Zorgvuldig gebruik van opioïden in de eerste lijn
Het gebruik van terugbetaalde opioïden (fentanyl pleisters, tramadol, oxycodone, tilidine of piritramide) is sinds 2010 spectaculair toegenomen. In 2016 heeft 10 % van de Belgische bevolking minstens één van deze geneesmiddelen afgehaald in de apotheek. Ook het aantal chronische gebruikers is in 6 jaar tijd gestegen met 28 %. Hierbij kunnen heel wat bijwerkingen optreden zoals gewenning, fysieke en psychische afhankelijkheid en ontwenningsverschijnselen bij afbouw.
Doelstelling programma
Dit erkend, kwaliteitsbevorderend programma is bedoeld om artsen
en apothekers te sensibiliseren rond deze problematiek. Daarbij wordt
gefocust op het rationeel gebruik van deze medicatie, met aandacht
voor informatieverstrekking naar de patiënt. Daarnaast worden ook
tools aangereikt om beter samen te werken tussen arts en apotheker.
Modules & materialen
Vanuit het kwaliteit bevorderend programma bieden we verschillende modules en materialen aan, die u in staat moeten stellen om succesvol een MFO te organiseren. U kan met andere woorden zelf uw lokaal MFO-project samen stellen op basis van de beschikbare modules & materialen.

​​​​Opgelet; deze documenten werden goedgekeurd in mei 2019 en geüpdatet in januari 2020. Wij voorzien geregeld een update. Er kunnen echter steeds wijzigingen zijn tussen de meest recente versie en het moment dat u een MFO-project organiseert. We zouden u echter aanraden om eerst contact op te nemen met ons en bij voorkeur volgt u een Train-the-trainer. Zo kunnen wij u optimaal informeren en van de laatste informatie voorzien.

Kwaliteitsindicatoren
Op het einde van het MFO kan je kiezen om concrete afspraken te maken en een 'kwaliteit bevorderend traject' opzetten, door één of meerdere 'indicatoren' te selecteren. Zo kan je na een bepaalde periode nagaan in welke mate het MFO zinvol was.
